a post-production geek by day, and aspiring writer by night, julia has been working in the film and television industry since she was 18. born in berlin, germany, she moved to canada as a kid and wound up in quebec where she finished her high school and added french as the second language after english that "she was forced to learn". julia had a hobby of writing and never took it seriously until her teacher said that her midterm writing project made him think of a script and if she had "ever thought about studying in film?", which blew her mind because up until then she was a regular slacker who had no idea what to do after high school. she moved to Los Angeles where she began work as a post intern and never looked back. she completed the film production course at vancouver film school in 2006 and has called vancouver her home ever since. enthralled by black comedies, julia aspires to get the brilliant ability to make audiences sympathize for raw and brutally flawed characters like todd solondz and noah baumbach. for now, she is focusing on learning how to begin writing a script without writing a 4 page scene of pure dialogue, which apparently she has a knack for.
